Capital Planning, Design and Construction
The Capital Programs Division encompasses facility planning, design, and construction. This team supports the county's departmental growth and various phases of major and minor capital construction projects, which include new construction, expansion, renovation, building improvements, facility space alterations, equipment installations, significant repairs, ADA improvements, utility upgrades, emergency power, and HVAC system upgrades.
The team consists of architects, engineers, project managers, inspectors, and administrative staff, and they are experts at managing the myriad of details that make a facility project successful.
We have a Sustainability Division within FAF to ensure compliance with the county’s sustainability policies. The division collaborates with our team to ensure we design and build in an environmentally responsible way.
The following FAF facilities have been certified by the United States Green Building Council:
- Crime Laboratory, LEED BD+C Gold
- Valley Health Center Milpitas, LEED BD+C Certified
- Valley Health Center, Downtown San Jose, LEED BD+C Gold
